Your First Orthodontic Visit

We offer a comprehensive exam and consultation for your first orthodontic visit at Glow. Dr. Cho will take the necessary diagnostic records and discuss recommended treatment options specifically designed to support your child and family needs. We will review the time frames for treatments, finances, and any general inquiries.

Insurance and finance

As a part of your initial consultation, we will discuss the finance options and fees for each plan. There, we will match you with an affordable orthodontic payment plan. We have monthly financing options with no interest attached. If you pay in full before starting treatment, you will take advantage of significant savings. Our office accepts cheques, debit, and credit cards. Please note that your fees will vary depending on the type and duration of your orthodontic treatment. We will provide all the claim forms for your insurance to streamline the process. Alongside your treatment, we offer a complimentary set of retainers and follow-up plan upon completion. After all, Glow orthodontics strives to make you feel like our own family.

Patient forms

You can fill out the forms in advance to achieve a contactless interaction during your orthodontic appointment. They can be filled out on your mobile device for your convenience.

Frequently asked questions

Are orthodontists different from my family or general dentist?

Yes, orthodontists are certified specialists in their respective fields. After graduating from dental school with competitive grades, they undertake additional orthodontic residency training, go through the specialist certification process, and are finally awarded orthodontist licensure. Family or general dentists have completed dental school and are tasked with providing a general scope of dental care.

Do I need a referral?

No, you can self-refer to our practice! Contact our office at any time with queries, questions, or to book an appointment. We also accept referrals from family or general dentists.

When is the best time to start a child’s orthodontic treatment?

This depends on an individual’s dental growth and development. Generally, we recommend that your child has a complimentary consultation with Dr. Cho around the age of 7.

How often do I have to come in for orthodontic treatments or adjustments?

After the initial placement of braces or Invisalign setup, we’ll schedule appointments at 6-8-week intervals for braces, and 8-10-week intervals for Invisalign. As you get closer to the end stages of wearing braces, we may shorten your appointment interval to every 4-6-weeks.

How long do braces or Invisalign treatments take?

It depends on the complexity of your case and what you’re hoping to achieve with treatment. Generally speaking, most treatments last 6-36 months. Comprehensive orthodontic treatment typically takes 18-24 months.
